Programme Introduction
Toward Equal Opportunities for Children in Sport (TECOS)
Szeged Városi Tenisz Klub and Tennis Club Palić 1878 successfully applied for the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme tender and got approved by the European Commission and National Development Agency. Therefore the two clubs, for more than a year, have the opportunities to organise different kinds of events both in Szeged and Palić, to make tennis an even more popular sport, especially with the involvement of disabled children.
This tender helps both clubs to work in a more effective way and also provides availability to accomplish future activities and plans:
- Tennis trainers will be educated and prepared for the work with children with special needs.
- Tennis coaching will be provided for children of elementary school age. In recent years, more and more families have found it difficult to finance tennis coaching and arrange for proper equipment, thus thanks to this tender everybody who applies will have free coaching and free racquets and balls during the time.
- Tennis competitions between Hungarian and Serbian children will help them to spend time with their fellows and develop cross-boarding friendships.
- For the clubs, renovated courts and the procurement for new equipment will serve the perfect place for playing tennis and will contribute to higher quality of training and increase the quality of competitions too.
